GENERAL SNOW EVENT GUIDELINES

WINTER STORM

*Power Outages due to Weather or High Winds could occur. Please provide power outtage information to your respective utility provider directly if you have been affected.


**SNOW REMOVAL/SANDING - As a gentle reminder Team Members do not shovel out personal vehicles.
Shovels are available at our local Ace Hardware or Home Depot for purchase.
*Please check your lease regarding snow plowing and snow shoveling.
 
All plowing and snow mitigation issues should be submitted via the maintenance request form located through your online Tenant or HOA portal.
 
Each community/condominiums we manage use different plowing crews and teams.
 
We ask for patience and your cooperation in communicating with folks that are answering phones and those who are out performing various snow removal operations in your community.
 
 
If your unit comes with parking, you will be instructed to park in designated parking areas. Please be sure to have your parking sticker
or parking pass clearly visible on your vehicle.
 
Please wear proper footwear such as boots with a good non-slip tread or hiking boots with a good gripping tread during inclement weather in the winter! Please be sure to take caution and common sense when approaching and leaving the buildings.

PLEASE BE SURE TO NEVER LEAVE OPEN FLAMED CANDLES OR FOOD ON YOUR STOVE UNATTENDED!
 
PLEASE SET YOUR THERMOSTAT TO AT LEAST 64 DEGREES IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE OUT OF YOUR UNIT
 OR APARTMENT FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

TO CONDOMINIUM OWNERS AND RENTERS


Please be advised that with the extreme cold in the forecast it is important to take preventative measures to avoid frozen pipes and heat loss in your unit. We have compiled some helpful information and precautions for you to read and implement as you deem necessary.

• OPEN The Cabinet Doors BELOW All of your sinks, kitchen, bathrooms, etc. * Leave cabinet doors under any sink open so warm air can circulate around pipes.

• Turn up your thermostat to get a head start before below freezing temps arrive. Set the heater to no less than 65-70 degrees depending on the type of unit you have and leave it on until the threat of freeze is over.

• Don’t Block Your Radiators – Radiators should always be kept open and clear of items. Do not tamper with valves on the radiators. Move all your furniture away from the radiators. Do not let curtains cover them, either, as this will divert heat to the windows.

• Check Your Heating Vents – Quite often, poor distribution of heat in your unit is not an equipment problem but caused by a closed vent or two. Take a minute to double check that all your vents are open and aiming in the right direction.

• Do not use dishwashers, washing machines etc. until you are certain the water and drain lines are thawed.

• Check Your Windows – It may seem like an obvious tip but checking all of the windows in your unit to make sure they are closed and locked will reduce radiant heat loss.
• In the event of frozen pipes do not attempt to thaw out frozen pipes yourself. Call a plumber!

If you plan on leaving your unit for any extended period of time, the heat must be left on in order to prevent frozen pipes. If you are away or going away, you should have someone available to check on your unit.

Remember, it is not fun having no water, water all over your home, and the headache and mess of dealing with it and cleaning up everything.

Please Keep in Mind, this extreme cold weather can cause havoc if you are not prepared. Doing these simple little tips, you can save yourself a ton of headaches, grief, inconvenience, and money. Residents should keep informed of the weather and make the appropriate decisions.

As a reminder, units may not feel as warm as usual due to the extreme cold outside temperatures. This may mean you will have to increase the temperature thermostats are normally set to.  Before placing no heat calls/emergency pages/emails please be sure to adjust your thermostat accordingly.
Please be patient with our office and vendors as we expect many emergency calls to come in.

Owners who rent their unit will need to pass this extremely important notice to your tenants and ensure the unit is prepared for the cold temperatures.

Please wear proper footwear such as boots with tread or hiking boots during inclement weather and in the winter! Please tell your employees to wear proper footwear for such conditions and take caution and common sense when approaching and leaving the buildings.

We appreciate your understanding and patience and will get to requests as best we can. You might be responsible for heat call outs. Please refer to your lease.
